You
are assured of a warm welcome by Chris and Nigel, who
have owned the Red Lion Inn since October 2006. This substantial
period property, parts of which are more than 400 years
old, is situated in the village of Partney,2 miles from
the market town of Spilsby on the southern edge of the
Lincolnshire Wolds.
The
inn has built up a reputation for excellent food and is
listed in both the AA Pub Guide and The Good Pub Guide
as well as being awarded a gold
citation in
the Lincolnshire
Life “A Taste of Excellence“
awards
2006/07 and 2007/08.
All our meals are homemade, freshly prepared and cooked
to order. A good selection of wines is available from
our wine list and our real ales are maintained to the
highest quality. We try, wherever possible, to use locally
sourced produce. Our meat is reared locally and provided
by Ashtons butchers in Wrangle and we buy our vegetables
locally. A board hanging in the bar is updated daily to
show what farms have supplied the meat and vegetables
you are eating. In addition to our extensive main menu,
daily specials are available. Our dessert menu is huge
too with over 22 choices. Sunday lunch is important at
the Red Lion. We serve a traditional roast dinner with
a selection of locally produced vegetables. We only use
joints of meat supplied by Ashtons and we roast it ourselves.
We can cater for large parties of up to 40 in our restaurant
area and are able to host every celebration imaginable
(birthdays, Christmas parties, anniversaries, christenings)
as well as funeral buffets. Our secluded table for two
in our disused porch area is very popular with couples
seeking privacy (a gentleman has even proposed marriage
here - we are happy to report that the lady accepted!).
We
are open for food from Wednesday to Sunday. Lunch is served
between 12noon and 2pm and evening meals are served between
7pm and 9.30pm (9pm on a Sunday). We are open for B&B
7 days a week.
The
accommodation at the Inn was totally refurbished in May
2007 and is awaiting accreditation by the Lincolnshire
Tourist Board. We have two double rooms and one twin room.
All the rooms have en-suite shower rooms and all are decorated
and furnished to a high standard and are equipped with
colour TV, tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryers,
towels and radio alarm clocks. Whether you are on holiday
or a business trip, our breakfast will set you up for
the day with a good selection from the buffet table together
with a choice of cooked breakfast, ranging from beans
on toast to a full English breakfast.
